Curriculum
In Reception the children are taught following guidelines set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance.
Our main aim is to provide an exciting and inspiring curriculum.
Each child’s progress is monitored through a programme of assessments including;
Foundation Stage Profile Reception
Baseline Numeracy and Literacy Assessments Year 1
End of Key Stage 1 SATs (Standard Assessment Tasks) Year 2
Optional QCA tests Years 3, 4, 5
End of Key Stage 2 SATs Year 6
Using a range of continual assessments each child’s progress is monitored closely.
Special Needs
At St. Matthew's we recognise that all children are unique and individual. If your child has additional needs, these will be discussed and an appropriate programme of support will be implemented.
